Diana Ross’ adorable grandson steals the show with a cute speech about his grandma

It wasn’t Kendrick’s first time on stage, as he made his television debut back in 2017 at the American Music Awards when his aunt, Tracee Ellis Ross hosted the event. However this time he stole the hearts of countless fans.

Kendrick charmed the audience from the moment Alicia Keys invited him on stage. Alicia referred to Kendrick as a “distinguished little guy,” but he retorted quickly when he looked at the audience and said, “Did she say, little guy? I’m almost 4-foot-9!”

With confidence the 9-year-old spoke of his grandmother:

“She is amazing. And young people, like me, can look up to her for her independence, confidence and her willingness to be her unique self. She has shown the world that nothing is beyond our reach.”

The youngster went on to praise Diana’s unique qualities and fierce independence ahead of her birthday on March 26, as he continued:

“She has shown the world that nothing is beyond our reach. So, ladies and gentlemen, please welcome by grandmommy, Diana Ross!”

Fans loved how articulate and professional he went about announcing the performance of his grandmother, Diana Ross. The Motown legend celebrated her 75th birthday early a medley performance which moved fans as one commented:

Other fans agreed and also noted Diana’s “Happy Birthday to Me!” remark at the end of her performance, as another fan wrote:

Diana Ross looked gorgeous in a crimson gown as she came out on stage with a huge smile. Before she amazed the audience with her medley Diana spoke of her passion for music:

“When I was a little girl, I felt the joy of singing. It made me happy and made my parents happy.”

She then continued with her rendition of “Reach Out And Touch” combined with “The Best Years of My Life. As Diana walked through the crowd, even Will Smith’s son Jaden, sang along into Diana’s mic as she picked members of the audience to sing along while meandering through the crowd.

To end off a perfect performance, Diana added an inspirational message, “Learn, dream, unlock new doors. All is possible.”

Another surprise for the evening had social media buzzing when Lady Gaga performed the song “Shallow” without Bradley Cooper, who was supposed to sing alongside Lady Gaga at the Grammy’s.

But that was far from the only reason, her actual spidery rendition of the song did not resonate with many fans, while others saw the Lady Gaga of old shine through.
