During an interview on Fox News’ Tucker Carlson Tonight, Kyle Rittenhouse discussed his legal team’s plans to launch a project which seeks to protect individuals from the slander of corporate media and hold media organizations accountable for their words.

Talking with Carlson Rittenhouse stated, “Me and my team have decided to launch The Media Accountability Project as a tool to help fundraise and hold the media accountable for the lies they said and deal with them in court.”

During the interview Carlson asked the 18 year-old if he is planning on suing a specific news company. Rittenhouse didn’t name any news outlets, but he did name dropped popular actor and talk show host Whoopi Goldberg.

Rittenhouse stated, “Well, right now, we’re looking at quite a few politicians, celebrities, athletes, Whoopi Goldberg’s on the list. She called me a ‘murderer’ after I was acquitted by a jury of my peers. She went on to still say that.”

The founding of The Media Accountability Project was fueled from the personal experience Rittenhouse experienced as he was called every name in the book during his trial for murder, for which he was acquitted.

Rittenhouse believes that the media needs to take responsibility for what they said about him stating, “I don’t want to see anybody else have to deal with what I went through,” he continued. “So I want to hold them accountable for what they did to me, because I don’t want to see anybody have to go through what I went through.”

Along with Whoopi Goldberg Rittenhouse named The Young Turks founder Cenk Uygur stating, “And there’s others,” Rittenhouse continued. “Don’t forget about Cenk from The Young Turks. He called me a murderer before the verdict, and continues to call me a murderer.”

In addition to Whoopi Goldberg, Rittenhouse has discussed plans to hold other media outlets and celebrities accountable for their defamatory statements.

Rittenhouse’s founding of The Media Accountability Project is a great start to holding the media accountable of slander and will be an important factor in future similar cases.

Rittenhouse was acquitted after a grand jury found him not guilty.
